Helping My Bellingham Auto Mechanic Get More Customers

I happen to have a very good Bellingham auto mechanic, who repairs not just my cars, but also my generator, my quad runner, my trucks, my horse trailer, well you get the idea.  Well my mechanic was forced out of his former location and has to start all over again, letting people know where he is and also I am sure he would not mind a few new faces in his customer lineup.

I have decided to help this Bellingham Auto Mechanic develop a great lead generating web presence.  Did you know that 70% of US households now use the Internet when shopping locally for products and services?  Might as well let them know about this auto mechanic and the excellent work he does.  Stay tuned to see what happens, you might pick up a few pointers on getting more clients or customers for your own local business.

Help Customers Find Your Local Business

I got some help this morning, it was very unexpected and very much appreciated.  I am traveling to Las Vegas this Thursday to attend an Online Revenue
Workshop
.  I got an email with the following information;

It’s Showtime! The Showtime Airport Shuttle Service

It looks like the Showtime Shuttle will be the best way to get back and forth from McCarren Airport. They run every 15 minutes around the clock and charge $6.50 one way, $12.00 round trip, cash only. You find them upon exiting baggage claim out of Door 12. If you’re in Terminal 2, proceed to the Showtime Tours Desk in baggage claim.

Call 702-895-9976 when you get to the hotel to schedule your pick-up back to the airport. They pick up and drop off at the hotel entrance.

Now what is so special about that email? Well it helps me get to the workshop first of all and it came not from the hotel where I am staying, but from the workshop organizers, it makes me feel like I am in good hands.

The hotel failed to assist me in this matter, they had no posting on their website, they had no information available by phone, just told me to catch any old shuttle to get there, this may be true but I like being told things like; go out door#12, this old farm boy understands directions like that, then I definitely am going to be heading in the right direction.  Which reminds me I better add directions to my own websites so my customers can find my local business here in Bellingham, WA

Business Customer Relations can You Improve Them?

You can do any number of no cost, or low cost things to improve your business customer relations.  I was reminded of how important good customer relations are when I had a problem with my barn builder.  On the last day, the building crew left in a big hurry, and left the construction site a mess.  The last item they finished, was a big door, they did not adjust it properly, and they installed a dirty panel that stuck out like a sore thumb.  I brooded about it all weekend and called them on Monday.

The sales representative came out that morning and agreed with my complaints, apologized and had most everything fixed that same day.  Now one reason this situation did not escalate was; this company did a lot of things for me prior to this incident.  They gave me a walk-in door for the barn, installed steel rebar in the doorways, all items that they could have added on to the cost of the barn, but they chose to give them to me instead, therefore I was, well beholding to them.  This certainly improved customer relations with me so I was able to look past this rough spot and I will still consider them as a builder in the future.

Another situation popped up recently, I went to a local restaurant here in Bellingham, I got this rather grumpy waitress, she did her job, brought the coffee around for refills, but such a sour person, I gave a tip for service but I will find a different place to eat, maybe one where there are a few smiles, usually they are available at such low cost, I am surprised more places don’t try using them.
