Online Revenue Workshop in Review News

Tonight I watched the Online Revenue Workshop webinar and what a great news announcement You may or may not know the lineup for this one of a kind event, but let me outline what is going to happen now.  There are going to be four internet marketing experts showing  or telling me what to do, then watching me do it and making sure I get it right, never happened to me before.

Marketing for Bellingham Attorneys

I did a quick check on how my posts were doing and here you can see that both of my recent posts are sitting at positions 1 and 2 one was only posted 7 minuets ago.  How great a keyword phrase marketing for bellingham attorneys is I am not sure but there are a lot of paid advertisers for it so can’t be a bad deal at all.

I have found that even if the keyword phrase  marketing for bellingham attorneys not such a hot deal it will still help your site rank better for a keyword like bellingham attorneys.  So I will take the cumulative affect of all the little phrases I can muster.

Local Marketing Strategy for Chicago Attorneys

A good marketing strategy for Chicago attorneys would start with a good feel for what the people in Chicago are really searching for.  I used the Google external keyword tool to see the actual keywords people are typing in and how often they are looking for these keywords.

We can see that the trend of people pursuing medical malpractice claims is doing well in Chicago.   There is also an upswing in wrongful death claims it seems.  Surprisingly there is not the increase in divorce searches that we saw nationally.  The good people in Chicago don’t seem to have followed the increase in DUI searches either.  I would like you to start getting it into your head that instead of “keyword research” we are actually looking at what Chicago residents are concerned about that is the reason that they actually sat down and typed these word that express their interest in that particular subject, don’t it kind of make you feel like a peeping tom?

Help Local Business Internet Marketing get Better

You should have an idea of which local businesses in your local area are already hungry buyers for what you have for them. You will be able to approach them with confidence wether by phone or inperson. Your local business marketing skills, applied to their business and marketing plan, can really boost their revenue.

Beware of using technical terms when speaking to these businesses. Remember these are intelligent people, they know their business. They don’t know about auto-responders, split testing, affiliate links, or analytics for Web pages. You’ll just confuse them and they will avoid you, their business is complicated enough as it is.

What you should do is find out what their business and marketing plans are. Help them target their most profitable merchandise, products or services.  Remember find their needs first, before you offer any solution. You’ll likely get a new client and residual income every month for helping that client.

Local Web Marketing

with long tail keywords

Some people live in a very small town with a dwindling population so they look to the web to help shore up their customer base, so a domain name with their city name is not all that helpful as they feel they have captured most of their city’s potential customer base.   Perhaps using the county or parish name would help, I use the state name as well.

Another method you can use is long tail keywords.  Long tail keywords can be used in the domain name and also in page names and text to target specific items.  A whole book has been written by Chris Anderson Called The Long Tail you should read the book for a better understanding, but for now I’ll give you and example.

I sell my horses on the web, a desirable keyword for me is horses, that’s  the head keyword but I will never be listed for that keyword as I am just not that good, nor do I want to be, there are people that make a full time living doing SEO or search engine optimization for companies that pay them very well.  I am going to assume that you have a business of your own that is why you want to get on the web, but not spend full time at it, I mean you got a store to run or a service you perform there just isn’t enough hour in a day right!  Now you could hire a SEO professional, or follow the long tail.

• Horse – the head keyword
• Quarterhorse  – I rank this as about the neck
• Quarterhorse for sale  – we moved down the body a ways
• Red Roan Horses – now we are at the tail
• Red Roan Horses for sale – the is long tail
• Red Roan Mare  for sale – even longer tail
• Red Roan Mare for sale Whatcom County Washington – we are way down a very long tail

For a domain name I choose what is available and that tends to be something near the tail as a example in the past, I have used the domain http://red-roan-horses.com as a feeder site to my main sales page.  I just built it up again tonight to give you and idea of how simple this site can be, I even used a free website builder supplied by my webhost and it took about 10 minuets to figure out and do it that way.

Here is a screen shot of the page note: I put my phone number and my address this will help with local searches, as a matter of course I try to put my address on most pages I create.

No matter what your company name is, your local online marketing can be  helped immensely by a brilliant choice of a domain name. When we dream up a business name we tend to immortalize ourselves by getting our name in it. So it ends up something like Bubba’s Footwear.  Nobody looking for Bubba and when is the last time you said to yourself, I believe I’ll get some new footwear.

What Bubba needs now is a domain name structured so customers can find him, Bubba does business in Cornfield Iowa so bingo I’d chose Cornfield first.

Now Bubba needs to figure out what his customers are really looking for that he can sell.  He could use footwear, but most people in Cornfied County really are looking shoes.  Okay we have a domain name;

CornfieldShoes.com

If the name cornfieldshoes.com is taken I could use cornfieldshoes.net or cornfieldshoes.org, personally I’d see if CornfieldIowaShoes.com or CornfieldShoesandBoots.com were available.

Now Bubba could use the hyphen (-) cornfield-shoes.com It will work but if Bubba puts it on his business card or he tries to tell a customer where to go look at his website, it can be awkward at best and there is a chance they will go to cornfieldshoes.com where that is, we don’t know, could be a competitor across town in Cornfield Iowa, or Cousin Clems Farrier Service, or Cornfield Shoes in Fairbanks Alaska.

So think ahead when setting up a domain name for local online marketing.
